Head Chef

To plan, prepare, and deliver nutritious, restaurant quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals in line with dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, textures, cultural needs)
  • Plan menus that are balanced, varied, and appealing
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
  • Manage food stock, ordering, and budget control
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
  • Work with care staff to understand residents’ needs and preferences
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Accommodate special events and themed meals

Skills & Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a chef or cook (care setting preferred)
  • Food hygiene certification (Level 2 or above)
  • Knowledge of nutrition, especially for elderly residents
  • Ability to cater for special dietary needs
  • Organised, creative, and compassionate
