Every Burghley Care home has been carefully designed to support independence, promote wellbeing and create spaces where residents can continue to enjoy the people, hobbies and routines that matter most to them. From the layout of each room to the carefully considered communal spaces and gardens, every detail has been designed with residents’ comfort, dignity and quality of life in mind.

We believe exceptional care is about far more than meeting needs. It is about building genuine relationships, celebrating individuality and creating a true sense of belonging. Our compassionate teams take the time to understand each person, supporting them to live with purpose, choice and independence while creating meaningful moments every day.

A Partnership Built on Experience

Although Burghley Care may be a new name, the team behind it brings with them many years of experience in delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Our journey began over 20 years ago with Park Lane Healthcare, where our Chairman, Chris Lane, first joined as Financial Director. Soon after, his wife Claire Lane became part of the team, and together they have played a key role in shaping the values and direction of the organisation.

Over the years, much has evolved, but one thing has remained constant—our passion for delivering outstanding care. What began as a small team has grown into a close-knit group of dedicated professionals, many of whom have worked together for years and share a genuine commitment to supporting residents and their families.

With the launch of Burghley Care, we are excited to bring this experience, along with our strong focus on wellbeing, community, and a family-centred approach, into our new homes.

Our first home in Bradford is where it all begins, bringing our approach to life and setting the tone for the homes that will follow.

Meet Our Managers - Bradford Hall

We are delighted to welcome experienced care professional Carmen Susai as Manager of our new Bradford Hall Care Home in Eccleshill, opening later this year.

Carmen brings over a decade of experience in the care sector, after making the move from teaching when her own mother developed dementia. This personal journey gave Carmen a real understanding of how important compassionate, high-quality care is for both residents and their families.

Since joining the sector, Carmen has achieved her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards her Level 5. Most recently, she managed a care home that was nominated for the Top 20 Care Homes in Yorkshire and the Humber Awards.

For Carmen, the best part of care is the relationships built along the way:

At Bradford Hall, Carmen is looking forward to creating a warm, welcoming home where residents feel valued, supported and able to live life their way.

Bradford Hall will provide residential, dementia and respite care in a purpose-built 72-bedroom home, while also creating exciting new job opportunities within the local community.

Manager - Crosslee Manor

We are delighted to welcome experienced care professional Solmaz Bahadori-Ridge as Manager of our new Crosslee Manor Care Home in Hipperholme, near Halifax.

Solmaz brings more than 25 years of experience in the care sector, supporting people with learning disabilities and complex health needs. Her career in care began after taking a role as a support worker — a position that quickly became her passion and shaped her future career.

Since then, Solmaz has built a wealth of experience, including many years with St Anne’s Community Services. She is a registered learning disabilities nurse, holds a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care, and has supported student nurses through her work with the University of Huddersfield.

For Solmaz, care has always been about the people:

“What has kept me in the sector is the relationships you build with residents and their families. I still have families who keep in touch years later, and that means so much.”

At Crosslee Manor, Solmaz is looking forward to creating a welcoming home where residents feel supported, valued and able to live life their way.

Opening this year, Crosslee Manor will provide residential, dementia and respite care in a purpose-built 72-bedroom home, while also creating new opportunities within the local community.

Meet The Team

Chris Lane - Chairman

Chris Lane is Chairman of Park Lane Healthcare and Burghley Care and has many years of experience within the care sector. His focus has always been on creating care homes where high standards of care go hand in hand with a genuine sense of community, warmth and belonging.

As Chairman, Chris works closely with the senior leadership and home management teams, helping to shape the organisation’s long-term direction while ensuring that the people who live and work within our homes remain at the heart of decision-making.

Chris is particularly passionate about continually improving the experience of residents and their families and creating environments where people can enjoy meaningful, fulfilling lives.

Nick Mant - Quality Director

Nick is Quality Director at Burghley Care, bringing extensive experience in healthcare leadership, transformation and service improvement. Clinically trained as a Paediatric Physiotherapist, he has held a range of senior leadership roles across healthcare, operational leadership and commissioning.

He believes that strong relationships, shared values and collaborative working are fundamental to creating positive experiences for residents, families and colleagues.

Marta Ribeiro - Clinical Director

Marta is Clinical Director at Burghley Care and brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and experience to the role. With a background in nursing, Marta has gone on to work across a number of large care home groups, developing extensive experience in clinical governance, compliance and quality improvement.

Marta is passionate about supporting colleagues to deliver consistently high standards while ensuring that robust clinical practices remain at the heart of everything we do.

Her approach combines strong clinical oversight with practical support for our teams, helping to create a culture where quality, learning and continuous improvement are part of everyday life at Burghley Care.

Andrew Shepherd - Health & Safety and Compliance Director

Andrew is Health & Safety and Compliance Director at Burghley Care, bringing extensive knowledge and experience in compliance, health and safety and operational risk.

As a Director of both Burghley Care and Park Lane Healthcare, Andrew plays an important role in shaping the systems, processes and standards that underpin the safe and effective running of our homes. He works closely with managers and colleagues to ensure robust governance and compliance are embedded into everyday practice.

Andrew takes a practical and collaborative approach, supporting teams to understand their responsibilities and ensuring our homes provide safe, well-managed and welcoming environments for residents, visitors and colleagues.

Emma Dixon - Finance Director

Emma is Finance Director at Burghley Care and Park Lane Healthcare, playing a key role in overseeing the financial management and long-term planning of both organisations.

Her role encompasses financial planning, reporting and governance, alongside supporting the continued growth and development of the organisation.

With a practical and collaborative approach, Emma ensures that strong financial management supports our wider ambitions, allowing us to continue investing in our homes, our teams and, most importantly, the people we care for.

Claire Lane - Marketing Manager

Claire is Marketing Manager for Burghley Care and Park Lane Healthcare, leading the marketing, communications and community engagement across both organisations.

Claire is responsible for developing the brands, promoting our homes and ensuring that the values and personality of each home are reflected in everything from digital marketing and social media to events, PR and community partnerships.

Her approach is centred around ensuring our homes are not simply places that provide excellent care, but welcoming communities where people can continue to enjoy new experiences, build relationships and make new memories.

Kirtsty Waller - Accounts Manager

Helen Brook - Operations Coordinator

Helen is Operations Coordinator for Burghley Care, bringing over 22 years of experience working within the care home sector.

Having previously worked as a Regional Office Manager, Helen has extensive experience supporting care home operations and understands the day-to-day demands of running busy care services.

Her wealth of experience within care homes gives Helen a strong understanding of both the needs of our teams and the importance of creating well-organised, welcoming environments for residents and their families.
