We are delighted to welcome experienced care professional Carmen Susai as manager of our new Bradford Hall Care Home in Eccleshill, ahead of its opening this year. Carmen brings over a decade of experience in the care sector.
Before moving into care, Carmen worked in teaching. Her career change was inspired by her personal experience when her mother developed dementia, giving her a deep understanding of the importance of compassionate, high-quality support for both residents and their loved ones.
Since joining the sector, Carmen has achieved her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards her Level 5 qualification. In her most recent role, Carmen was the manager of a home that was nominated for the Top 20 Care Homes in Yorkshire and the Humber Awards.
She says the relationships she builds with residents and families are what keep her passionate about working in care.
“The best thing about working in care is the gratitude from families when they know their loved ones are being properly cared for. Seeing the people we support happy and enjoying life is what makes the job so rewarding.
“People should always be able to enjoy themselves, make choices and live with dignity, independence and happiness. Everyone deserves a glass of wine and a holiday, even if they live in a care home!”
At Bradford Hall, Carmen is focused on creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel valued, supported and able to live life on their own terms.
Bradford Hall Care Home will provide residential, dementia and respite care in a purpose-built setting designed to promote independence, comfort and wellbeing. The home will feature 72 bedrooms, a range of communal facilities, and will also create new job opportunities within the local community.
