Head Chef
To plan, prepare, and deliver nutritious, restaurant quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals in line with dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, textures, cultural needs)
- Plan menus that are balanced, varied, and appealing
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Manage food stock, ordering, and budget control
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Work with care staff to understand residents’ needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Accommodate special events and themed meals
Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a chef or cook (care setting preferred)
- Food hygiene certification (Level 2 or above)
- Knowledge of nutrition, especially for elderly residents
- Ability to cater for special dietary needs
- Organised, creative, and compassionate
